Butler County Holiday Shopping Extravaganza

By Christine Bahr
As we say farewell to the hot summer months, it’s time to look forward to the rapidly approaching holiday season. If you are ready to have some fun shopping with your family and friends, The Butler County Holiday Shopping Extravaganza is the place for you! Butler County resident, Nicolette, from Nicolette’s Tailor Shop and Specialty Gifts in Portersville, was inspired while watching the Food Network show, “Behind the Bash!” and thought of a “Butler Bash for the Holidays!”

Elected to sit on the Board of Directors for the Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau, Nicolette is a representative for the members of the Shopping Group. Her creativity and desire to promote Butler County as a shopping experience and destination launched the idea for The Butler County Holiday Shopping Extravaganza. “We have really unique shops, wineries, children’s stores, clothing, candy, an indoor mall and so much more with business owners who are friendly and willing to help with all your shopping needs, Nicolette said.

The Butler County Holiday Shopping Extravaganza began on October 6, when gift baskets were displayed at each store, where entry forms could be filled out. Participating stores are: Andrea’s Country Shop; Applachian Rock Shop & Jewelry Emporium; Baldinger’s Foods from all Nations; Clearview Mall; Carol Foster, ASA, Lasky House; The Glass Blowing Center; Harmony Museum Gift Shop; Meridian Station Gift Shop; Nicolette’s Tailor Shop & Specialty Gift Shop; Otto & Gerts; Playthings Etc.; Rigby’s Menswear; Room to Grow; Rustic Acres Winery; The Silversmith Shop; The Stillroom Gift Shop and Winfield Winery.

Each of the 17 stores has a gift basket to offer worth at least $100. One lucky basket will include a surprise from OSIRIS Day Spa certificate—a Swedish Massage for Two, bringing the value of that particular basket to over $250. You may enter as often as you wish. Drawings for the winning baskets will be held on December 15.

A detailed flyer for The Butler County Holiday Shopping Extravaganza is available at any of the listed shops. Included on the flyer are special holiday events, open houses, hours, phone numbers and locations for each shop. A shopping brochure, complete with a map, photos and shop descriptions is also available. For more information, you may visit the website www.visitbutlercounty. com or call Nicolette at 724-368-1100.
